It seems like every time I turn on one of my electronic devices it needs a software update of some type. Between my work computer, my home computer, my iPhone, and my iPad, it’s now to the point where it happens daily. Early this morning, I had this thought, “What if believers updated their relationship with God as frequently as they updated the software on their electronic devices?“
The more I walk with God, the more dependent I become upon spending time with him, and staying connected to him. If I don’t plug-in and “update” the software of my heart and mind, every single morning, my day feels incredibly sluggish and out-of-sync. Moreover, it also hinders my ability to relate to other people in a Godly way.
For instance: the other day I had a “tweak-out” moment on the phone with one of my friends. After it was over, and after I had to seek his forgiveness for snapping at him, I realized that I had made it more of a priority to get coffee that morning, than to read my Bible and pray. EPIC FAIL on my part!
My epic relational fail reminded me that I simply cannot skip out on my morning quiet-time with God. It must be more of a priority than my daily cup of Starbucks coffee. Plus, as I go throughout my day, I must remain in a state of connection with God, which means constantly “updating my software.”
How about you? When’s the last time you “synced-up” to God? If you’re not doing it daily, then I’ll bet your heart and mind are running a bit sluggish. Missing your time with God means missing an incredible opportunity to have the power of the Holy Spirit guiding your day.
Think About It.

Well said Danny. Thank you.
HI Danny, Great message. I have found an easy way to “sync” up daily with God by using the following website, https://www.youversion.com/reading-plans/59-life-application-study-bible-devotion. Can get it on email on your phone! So easy to use too!
Good stuff, Linda!
I completely agree! A sync-up once a week on Sundays isn’t enough for me. When it comes to ‘getting on line’ with Him, I’m completely addicted. There’s no getting enough of Him! 🙂
