My wife and daughter went out of town this past weekend to meet some of the other girls in our family for a couple of days of shopping and “girl stuff”. So, my son and I got to “batch-it” and as you can imagine, we had a lots of fun doing “guy stuff”! On Saturday, we stayed in bed and watched cartoons until 12:30pm, ate chocolate chip cookies for breakfast and lunch, and then decided to actually get up and do something. After getting dressed, my son wanted to style his hair into a mohawk…and since there were no girls around to advise against it, he did just that.
After his adventure with hair gel, we decided to continue our day by playing miniature golf. It was a blast!
After golf, we headed into the forest, shifted the Z-71 into 4-wheel drive and went on a bear hunt. We rolled down the windows, drove slowly, and looked intently into the woods, while we listened to Green Day’s “21 Guns” over and over (my son loves that song…not sure why, but he just does). Despite the success of previous bear hunts, we had no luck this time. So, we stopped and hung out at Catfish Lake.
As the sun started to set, we headed out of the forest and set a course for our favorite “guy” restaurant, located in Jacksonville. While we were there, we ate man’s favorite food–steak, and watched man’s favorite sport–football (the bad news is LSU lost to Alabama, but the good news is UNC beat Duke).
